Announcement bar

The announcement bar displays a horizontal bar of announcements above the header. It holds up to five announcements that you can show as a static, rotating list or as scrolling marquee content.

Settings

The bar can run in two display types: Static shows one announcement at a time and rotates through them, and Scrolling content runs your announcements as a continuously scrolling marquee. The Interval between announcements setting appears only in Static mode; the scrolling controls appear only in Scrolling content mode.

Setting	Description
Colors	Sets the color scheme for the bar.
Display type	Switches between Static (rotating list) and Scrolling content (marquee). Defaults to Scrolling content.
Visibility	Chooses which pages show the bar: All pages, Home page only, Product pages only, or All pages except the home page. Defaults to All pages.
Interval between announcements	Sets how many seconds pass before the next announcement rotates in, from 1 to 20 seconds (default 4). Visible only in Static mode.
Content alignment	Aligns static announcements. Not used in Scrolling content mode, which always centers its content.

Scrolling content settings

The following settings appear only when Display type is set to Scrolling content.

Setting	Description
Clones	How many copies of each announcement the marquee repeats so the strip fills the bar, from 0 to 20 (default 3).
Separator between blocks elements	Text placed between announcements in the marquee; the default is a dash. Leave it blank to show no separator.
Scrolling speed	How fast the marquee moves, from 1 to 20 (default 3).
Scrolling direction	Moves the marquee Left to right or Right to left. Defaults to Left to right.
Spacing between announcements	Sets the gap between announcements in rem, from 0 to 5.6 rem in 0.8 rem steps (default 2.4 rem).
Pause scroll on hover	Stops the marquee while a visitor's pointer rests on it. Off by default.

Scrolling content moves only when the page runs JavaScript. If a visitor has JavaScript disabled, the announcements still display but the marquee does not scroll.

Blocks

Add up to five Announcement item blocks, one per announcement.

Setting	Description
Text	The announcement message, formatted as rich text. Type `[countdown_timer]` to insert a countdown timer, and `[amount_left]` to insert the amount left toward a free-shipping threshold.
Countdown timer handle	The handle of the countdown timer metaobject to render wherever you placed `[countdown_timer]`. The metaobject must exist for the timer to appear. Defaults to `timer_1`.
Content alignment on desktop	Aligns the announcement text on desktop. Defaults to left.
Content alignment on mobile	Aligns the announcement text on mobile. Defaults to left.
Hide block on desktop	Hides this announcement on desktop. Off by default.
Hide block on mobile	Hides this announcement on mobile. Off by default.
